HOW WE OPERATE
Five principles.
The rules the house runs on, for the companies we own and the founders we work beside.
THE PRINCIPLES
I. Own the infrastructure.
We build the systems our companies run on, and we keep them in house. When a tool decides how a business earns, the business should own it outright. Renting the core of a company means someone else can change it.
II. Systems before headcount.
A new hire should join a process that already works. We write down how the work is done and build the tools that carry it. Then we add people. A company that can only grow by hiring has not finished being built.
III. Cash flow is the only applause.
We judge a business by the cash it produces. Attention is pleasant and changes nothing. A company that pays its way from its own operations is working. One that cannot will not be saved by noise.
IV. Stay in the room after the deal.
When we help another founder scale, we take a stake and keep showing up. Signing is where the work starts. We stay close to the operating decisions, and we still answer the phone long after the paperwork is filed.
V. Never need the money.
We do not raise or manage outside money. We run on what our companies earn. That leaves us free to wait, or to say no. A decision made without needing the money is usually the better one.
